Fort Worth, TX (November 19, 2018) – Dust off your boots, come in your best cowboy – chic attire and kick off the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on Saturday, January 12, 2019. Join the Junior League of Fort Worth (JLFW) for its 7th annual Grand Entry Gala” to be held “on the dirt” at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum.

Celebrate Fort Worth’s western heritage with an evening of fun and fundraising featuring a silent auction, dinner, dancing, and live entertainment by a chart topping country artist. The event will also showcase and acknowledge the 2019 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s annual Stock Show Art Contest winners during a scholarship presentation and auction of their art.

“The Junior League of Fort Worth and Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo have enjoyed an over 60 year partnership through Rodeo Program Sales.  Grand Entry Gala is a celebration of the organizations’ contributions to Fort Worth’s culture and community and, quite likely, the best party of the year,” said Carrie R. Cappel, President of JLFW.

This year, the JLFW will recognize Jean and John Roach as the Honorary Chairs of Grand Entry Gala. Mr. and Mrs. Roach have a long history of service and philanthropy in the Fort Worth community and received the Golden Deeds Awards for recognition as outstanding citizens of Fort Worth in 2000. Mr. Roach served as Texas Christian University’s (TCU) chairman of the board for 15 years and was honored as the namesake of the John V. Roach Honors College. He also serves as an Honorary Vice President of the Executive Committee of Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.  Mrs. Roach is a Sustaining member of the League and is a recipient of the Sustainer of the Year award. She has remained active in the JLFW in an advisory role for the past several years and served as the Grand Entry Gala sustaining advisor in 2015.

The event helped enable the Junior League of Fort Worth to invest more than $420,000 into the community in 2018. The organization’s community projects this year include Community Storehouse, Cristo Rey FW High School, Daniel Migael Foundation, Fort Worth Dream Park, Fort Worth Drowning Prevention, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas, Salvation Army, The Women’s Center, and Wings of Hope Equitherapy.
