The Junior League of Fort Worth Announces Cancellation of In-Person 14th Annual Christmas in Cowtown Holiday Market

FORT WORTH– The Junior League of Fort Worth (JLFW) has been working tirelessly to navigate the unusual circumstances presented by COVID-19 and its impact on this year. After much thoughtful consideration and a unanimous board vote, JLFW has decided not to present an in-person Christmas in Cowtown Holiday Gift Market experience this year. It is a year in which the health and safety of the League’s volunteers, patrons, and merchants is the main focus and priority. While the League will not be hosting the traditional market in October, the organization will present an adapted opportunity for shoppers to find gifts for nearly everyone on your Christmas list by crafting virtual experiences and partnerships and engaging in innovative ways to support the merchants and vendors during this challenging time.

“Everyone is experiencing the hardships of living through a pandemic – both organizationally and personally. Thriving during COVID-19 is requiring us to think outside the box solutions to some of the challenges we face are requiring creativity. I believe in each of us, in this League, and in our community and I’m confident that we can thrive with perseverance and grace and continue to serve our community through whatever this year brings,” said President Amber Robertson.

For over 90 years, the Junior League of Fort Worth has been a driving force for supporting and improving the local community. A reimagined, temporary adaptation of Christmas in Cowtown will give the League an opportunity to continue those vital efforts– through supporting small and local businesses, through raising funds that go back to work through projects at nonprofit agencies in the community, and through continuing to foster and develop new potential in our volunteer members.

Additional details will be coming soon. The Junior League of Fort Worth and the Christmas in Cowtown team extend best wishes for everyone’s health and safety during these unprecedented and uncertain times.
